LeTourneau University President Dr. Dale A. Lunsford was re-elected to the board of directors of the Independent Colleges and Universities of Texas Monday morning by independent college presidents meeting in Dallas. Lunsford was also elected to serve as the board secretary through 2014. Lunsford previously has served on the ICUT board as treasurer..
“Forty independent colleges in Texas serve thousands of students annually and have graduated many of the state’s leaders,” Lunsford said. “These campuses are essential to the future of Texas. I am honored to be elected to serve.”
ICUT is a nonprofit that has served for over 40 years as a voice for Texas’ accredited, nonprofit, tax-exempt private colleges and universities with state policy makers in support of higher education. Its mission is to help policymakers understand the importance of independent higher education.
LeTourneau University is an interdenominational Christ-centered university located in Longview, Texas, with undergraduate and graduate programs online and at education centers around the state.
