LeTourneau University will feature security expert Dr. Paul Viollis speaking about practical ways to live out faith in the workplace in a chapel service at 10:50 a.m. Wednesday, Nov. 13, in the S.E. Belcher Jr. Chapel and Performance Center, 2100 S. Mobberly Ave., in Longview. The chapel is part of the ministry of LETU’s Center for Faith and Work. The public is invited.
Viollis is CEO of Risk Control Strategies, a consulting, investigation and crisis management firm, specializing in threat management, risk assessments and security solutions for the affluent community, major corporations and government entities.
During Viollis’ career in both law enforcement and security, he developed a diverse base of expertise in various areas of the criminal justice system ranging from his position as supervisor for the New York County’s District Attorney’s Offices Criminal Court Unit and Security Specialist/Supervisor under the United States Space Command to CO of a Florida State Police Academy. His professional business resume also includes previously serving as president and CEO of Corporate Risk Consulting, senior managing director for Citigate Global Intelligence & Security and vice president of Kroll, where he served on their post-September 11th Threat Assessment Team.
He has been involved in thousands of investigations and specializes as a security advisor for the affluent community as well as in workplace violence behavioral analysis of which he is currently recognized as one of the foremost experts in the world.
A renowned public speaker, Viollis has served as a subject matter expert in workplace security, counter terrorism threat assessment, workplace violence, private client security, police training, exam validity, school violence and domestic violence.
He has appeared and been quoted in media outlets, including CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, ABC, CNBC, CBS, ESPN, The Wall Street Journal, The New York Times, Entrepreneur Magazine, National Public Radio, CSO, Forbes, Worth, Business Insurance, CFO and Reuters. Currently, he serves as a columnist for Worth Magazine on security issues.
He has authored books ranging from personal security for the affluent, workplace violence and workplace security. He is the author and lead editor for Jane’s Publishing’s book Workplace Security; co-author of Safe & Sound Security Solutions for the Affluent, and most recently he co-authored with RCS President Doug Kane the book, Silent Safety—Best Practices for Protecting the Affluent.
Viollis earned his bachelor’s degree in criminal justice from John Jay College, a Master’s in Public Administration from the University of Central Florida and a doctorate in philosophy with a major in business administration from Madison University.
