LeTourneau University broke its own aviation preview records Saturday, Feb. 27, at its new aviation education facility at the McKinney National Airport when more than 100 local high school students from Frisco, McKinney,Plano and Prosper schools attended LETU's first aviation preview in McKinney. The day was divided into about 50 students in each of the morning sessions at 9 a.m. and afternoon sessions at 2 p.m.
The students came to learn about aviation careers and education. They also were allowed to take a test ride in one of the university airplanes. Representatives from Envoy Airlines, Collin College and the McKinney airport were there to speak to students about aviation careers. LETU has dual-credit partnership agreements with several school districts. This semester, students are taking flight classes for the first time at LETU's new McKinney airport facility at 1500 Industrial Blvd. in McKinney.
