LeTourneau University will feature the Christian music band The Gray Havens in a free concert at 7 p.m. Friday, April 13, in the S.E. Belcher Jr. Chapel and Performance Center. The Gray Havens will also perform and speak during a free 10:50 a.m. chapel service in the Belcher Center.
Both events are open to the public.
Husband-wife Dave and Licia Radford comprise the band The Gray Havens, a “narrative-pop-folk” duo.
Since their beginning in 2013, their projects have been hailed as “an imaginative treatment of faith… [having] a visionary quality that’s both playful and enraptured.”
They have a knack for creating a listening experience similar to paging through your favorite book, with richly textured compositions and multi-layered lyrics. Their new single is “High Enough.” A previous release, “Ghost of a King,” debuted at #3 on the iTunes singer-songwriter charts. The album possesses a wide range of music with a mixture of acoustic duo and full band performances that include string players from colleges all over the country. The album ranges from grand epics to pop music, but stays cohesive by exploring the human condition of longing.
